The short answer
create_site_from_archive is a Static.app MCP tool. It turns an uploaded zip into a live site. Use Calculator Tools when you want a calculator.tools URL and webappCreate on your account. Connect MCP.
Static.app's endpoint is https://mcp.static.app/sse and it expects an API key. This host signs in with Google.
What this call does
Static.app's MCP page says a new site uses create_upload, then create_site_from_archive. The agent zips a build, uploads it, and receives a static.domains address. File edits use write_site_files, covered on write_site_files.
The page says the connector is on every plan, including a 7-day trial with 1 website. Paid plans start at $6 a month. The agent can change sites that key can access.
That flow fits a folder you already built. It is a host, not a calculator product.
What Calculator Tools does
Calculator Tools creates the app from a title and description, then stores the files. The assistant does not have to zip a dist folder first.
Files live in one directory. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, SVG, and similar static files.
You stay the owner. Free accounts can publish 3 apps. Pro ($5.99/month) raises the limit to 25.
How to use MCP for this job
Add https://api.calculator.tools/mcp/ in Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT. Sign in with Google. Click Approve.
Call the MCP tool create_site_from_archive with files, including index.html. The server calls webappCreate and returns the URL. It does not unpack a zip and it does not take upload_id.
If the files already exist, the same MCP connection can write them. From the browser, use Create.
Limits
Calculator Tools does not accept create_site_from_archive. It does not issue a static.domains name.
Large framework builds that need a zip upload belong on a host that documents that tool. This host wants the static app itself. It does not run server code. Check the page in a browser after publish.
Next step
Open Create or connect MCP. The first 3 apps are free.
