Artifact

Use Calculator Tools MCP for a public URL you own

The short answer

Artifact is a Claude Code tool. It publishes HTML or Markdown as a page on claude.ai. Use Calculator Tools when the page should live on your account at a calculator.tools URL. Connect MCP. Claude calls webappCreate.

The product word is also defined at Artifact. This page is about the tool name.

What this call does

Claude Code's tools reference lists Artifact. It publishes an HTML or Markdown file as a private interactive page on claude.ai. You can share it. The docs say it needs a Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan and a Claude login.

The page is Claude's artifact. Team sharing and public links follow Claude's rules. An artifact can be a live view of the session. It is not a file in a Calculator Tools account until something publishes it here.

The comparison is Claude Artifacts.

What Calculator Tools does

Calculator Tools hosts static files on the owner's account. The public URL does not require a Claude plan to open.

Files live in one directory. index.html plus CSS, JavaScript, and other static files.

You stay the owner. Remix applies to public apps on this site.

Free accounts can publish 3 apps. Pro ($5.99/month) raises the limit to 25.

How to use MCP for this job

Iterate with the Artifact tool if you are in Claude Code or Claude. Then publish the static version.

Add https://api.calculator.tools/mcp/ as a custom MCP server. Sign in with Google. Click Approve.

Call the MCP tool Artifact with html or content. The server calls webappCreate, writes the page, and returns a calculator.tools URL. Markdown is wrapped into index.html. There is no import button that pulls a claude.ai artifact by id.

Or open Create and paste the HTML.

Limits

Calculator Tools does not call Claude's Artifact tool. It does not host the private claude.ai URL.

If the artifact needs a backend or a React server, this host is the wrong place. For static HTML, publish here. Check generated math.

Next step

Connect MCP in Claude, or open Create. The first 3 apps are free.
